Top 5 books about money
“If you wish to be wealthy, then you must study wealth.” -Jim Rohn
Do you know that there are regular people with regular jobs that became millionaires? It’s true. And did you know that they wrote down how they did it in books? And no one reads them! How do you explain that? How can someone complain about being broke, yet does nothing about it? They’re too busy watching the ball game or singing contest on t.v. I guess. What! Turn that off! Stop watching other people’s dreams come true and start working on your own dreams. Now, if money isn’t important to you and you’re happy, wonderful! But if you want to start piling cash, then you have to read. Have you ever noticed that all those expensive homes on t.v. have built in libraries? Hmmmmm.
Below are my top 5 books that will get your juices flowing. You don’t have to follow the books to the letter. I don’t. Just grab what you can do and start piling up cash! That’s what I do. These books are common sense and easy strategies that you’ll be able to grasp. There’s non of that hard to understand financial stock jargon. I only like to read about regular people with regular jobs that became millionaires. Okay, get a highlighter too because you’ll need to take notes in them. And remember, all great leaders are great readers. Enjoy!
5) The Millionaire Next Door
The authors of this book have been studying wealthy people for decades. They actually went into “wealthy” neighborhoods to speak with the residents. What they found was shocking. 10% of the residents in the neighborhood were actually rich. 90% were broke, in debt up to their ears and had no furniture in their mini mansion. This is a great book to learn how real millionaires act and live. Real millionaires actually live next door to you and I. This is a great read to learn and adopt millionaire habits into your own life. Click link to take you there.
4) The Millionaire Fastlane
I know, I know, sounds scammy right? Do not judge this book by its cover. I listened to an interview the author MJ DeMarco did and he actually had to change the cover which had a lamborghini on the original cover. But this book is fantastic! Saving money is going on the defense. This book teaches you how to go on the offense and expand your means, or income in other words. To be a champion, you must play great defense and offense. This book is a great tough love book to get you going on offense. Click link to take you there.
3) The Automatic Millionaire
If you’d like to read about a married couple making a combined income of $52,000 a year and how they became millionaires, then I strongly recommend this book. It’s not fiction either. Just regular people with regular jobs, (a city worker and a hair dresser), becoming millionaires. And they wrote down how they did it in this book! It also teaches you how to put saving money on auto-pilot so that you don’t see it. The bonus for me in this book is the secret that banks don’t want you to know on how to pay your 30 year mortgage off in 15 years or less. Click link to take you there.
2) The Total Money Makeover
This book holds a special place in my heart because it’s the book that pulled me out of my financial woes. Dave’s no non-sense approach is exactly what I needed back in 2006. I was 26 years old and needed to grow up. Instead of looking outward, pointing my finger, and blaming others for my problems, Dave got me to look in the mirror and realize that my habits and decisions got me where I was at. Not Washington D.C., not my boss, not my parents, but ME! Click link to take you there.
1) The Richest Man In Babylon
I put this book at number one because I’m a history buff. Mixing money talk and history about one of the oldest cities in the world is right up my alley. It’s also about how the working man or woman can become extremely wealthy. It talks about living off of 70% of your income and investing the rest of the 30%. It’s an all-time classic and if you speak with any wealthy person or look at their bookshelf, you will see this book on their shelf. My all time favorite. Click link to take you there.
Well there you have it! I hope this helps you start your journey to financial freedom. Check out my blog for up to date money saving content I will be posting. Take care!
